Building Community: A discussion of town & gown community building strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic

Thu, 25 Feb 2021
12:00 - 13:00

Traditional community building activities during the COVID-19 pandemic has been challenged by the realities of online learning and physical distancing, making it difficult to build healthy productive relationships between post-secondary institutions and their communities. We have assembled a broadly representative panel to discuss the challenges and solutions to building community over the past year. This panel discussion will be moderated by Alexander Wray, President of the Town and Gown Association of Ontario, and includes:

  • Terry Ugulini, Mayor of the City of Thorold
  • Jeremy Johnston, VP Student Services of the Society of Graduate Students at Western University
  • Judy Morozuk, Public Services Facilitator for Barrie Public Library
  • Shaun McCracken, Assistant Director of Trent University Residences

The panel discussion will be recorded, and made available to members for future viewing. Please register by February 24 to recieve the Zoom link for the webinar.
